11th IPMA Research Conference “Research Resonating with Project Practice“
Date: 22-23 April 2023, Nanjing, China
We are in an era of rapid change. Project management practices face a new set of challenges. Driven by big data and other digital technologies, the post-pandemic era and increasing global economic uncertainty, the project management environment has changed significantly, and the transformation of project management organisations and processes faces enormous opportunities and challenges.
Innovation is the primary force guiding development. Under the new environment, new management issues, new application scenarios, and new methods and tools are constantly emerging in project management practice. This provides a rich source for academic research oriented to management practice’s needs and offers opportunities to co-create value for the enterprise’s management practice.
Therefore, we urgently need to build a more open and inclusive project management innovation ecology so that the project management practice community and academic community can better interact and communicate and jointly explore the concerned hot spots, pain points and solutions in project management practice. At the same time, academia also needs to expand the boundaries of project management research to better cope with the challenges faced by project management practice. Conducting academic research oriented to the actual needs and critical issues of project management practice can better promote the development of academic research on project management and empower enterprises’ management practices.
